Nenue or Hawaiian Chub is a reef fish, endemic to the Hawaiian islands. Unlike their almost identical cousin the Gray Chub that can be found in many places around the world, Nenue tend to live in large schools and can be found in very turbulent water along reefs. They are very strong swimmers, darting back and forth through rough surf with ease. This amazing iʻa species is a local fisherman’s favorite to fry or eat sashimi style.

Our Nenue uluna measures 12” long and is made with 100% organic cotton and stuffed with hypoallergenic eco-friendly recycled polyester fibers.
