Among many historic uses for Kukui nuts (Candle nut) Native Hawaiians would make them into tops by inserting a bamboo stick into the center.
Players stand in a circle on a smooth, flat surface and spin the Kukui top with the thumb and pointer fingers from 1 - 2 feet in the air. The Player whose top spins the Longest Wins!! The More players the better as the Kukui nuts bump into each other and knock out opponents.
